Azerbaijan’s tourism potential was showcased with a national stand at the "KITF" Tourism and Travel Exhibition, Central Asia’s leading tourism fair, held in Almaty, Kazakhstan, from April 24–26. The participation was organized by the State Tourism Agency and the Azerbaijan Tourism Board.

Spanning a 92-square-meter exhibition space, Azerbaijan’s national stand featured nine industry partners, including Azerbaijan Airlines CJSC, Shahdag Mountain Resort, hotels, and travel agencies. Throughout the exhibition, B2B (business-to-business) meetings were held to promote Azerbaijan’s tourism sector and explore new partnership opportunities.

Visitors to the Azerbaijan stand had the opportunity to learn about the country’s history, national cuisine, traditions, cultural heritage, and UNESCO World Heritage sites. They were also introduced to a variety of tourism experiences, including scenic hiking routes in the Caucasus Mountains, eco-tours, visits to natural thermal springs, and wellness retreats at Azerbaijan’s renowned therapeutic resorts.

On the opening day of the exhibition, the Azerbaijan Tourism Board participated as a national representative in a panel session dedicated to the development of international tourism.

Notably, in January–March 2024, the number of Kazakh visitors to Azerbaijan reached 16,522, reflecting a 135% increase compared to the same period last year.
